Syrian Central Bank Governor: Rate Surpasses 63% Final Extension

The Central Bank of Syria announced that the percentage of replacing the old currency with the new Syrian pound has exceeded 63%, with the deadline for exchange extended until the end of July 2026. It confirmed that the process has achieved positive results, and the government's efforts are focused on facilitating the exchange of old banknotes and providing sufficient quantities of the new currency, in order to ensure that the new pound is the only one in circulation after the deadline expires.
