The "Basyla" pest has spread in the olive groves of Idlib countryside, causing weakening of the trees and falling of flowers. This occurred amid unusual weather conditions that contributed to increased activity outside its normal seasons. The General Directorate of Agriculture is conducting field visits to assess the spread and provide guidance to farmers, emphasizing the importance of early intervention and healthy control methods using pesticides or biological enemies to minimize damage. This comes amidst a rise in the level of infestation due to the specific weather conditions of this year, highlighting the need to adhere to technical measures to limit its spread.
