Increased security in Homs after tribal elder arrest

Homs experienced security tension after Sheikh Mamdouh Al-Fadauis, a prominent figure from the Al-Fawairea clan, was detained over a dispute in the Tartus province. Clan members responded with gunfire and acts of rioting in protest of the arrest. He was released after an hour, which led to widespread tribal gatherings and a security alert in the area.
