German police hold Syrian for 14 days

German authorities conducted raids in the cities of Sülingen and Rümlach against a 25-year-old Syrian man on suspicion of terrorism related to an attempt to communicate with ISIS. He was interrogated on charges of establishing connections with the intent to commit a terrorist crime. He was placed in preventive detention for 14 days, with the possibility of extension, after the investigation found insufficient evidence for permanent detention. Meanwhile, the police are conducting examinations of electronic devices and storage media that were confiscated.
