Iraq to export oil via Syria

The Iraqi Council of Ministers approved the Iraqi Ministry of Oil's contract with the Syrian side to transport and store quantities of Iraqi crude oil via the Syrian coast on the Mediterranean Sea. The decision includes the transportation and handling of Basra light, medium, and heavy crude through the ports of Baniyas and Tartus, as a step toward diversifying export routes and strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries. Additionally, approval was granted to establish a representative office for the Ministry of Oil in Iraq to manage and oversee export operations through this route.
