German customs detain travelers over undeclared cash
The German Customs Authority at the Freiburg border revealed the seizure of over 50,000 euros and undeclared cash during two incidents at the border and at Friedrichshafen Airport. In the first operation, customs officers stopped a truck from Switzerland and found inside it amounts exceeding 24,700 euros and 27,000 Swiss francs, along with electronic devices valued at 1,500 euros. In a second case, customs at the airport detained a Turkish man carrying 20,000 euros without permits. Procedures were initiated to verify the source of the funds, as the law requires declaration for amounts exceeding 10,000 euros.
