Suwayda students blocked from exams
The Hajari militia in Sweida Governorate is detaining many students and imposing restrictions on transportation along the Sweida–Damascus road, which has halted the arrival of approximately 13,000 students to exam centers. Tight security measures and inflammatory rhetoric on social media have further compounded the obstacles facing students, as roads have been closed and buses prevented from reaching their destinations, despite government facilitation and security arrangements put in place to ensure the smooth conduct of exams. This crisis is part of a broader intersection of field, media, and political issues that have impacted students' right to education, even as official efforts continue to facilitate their access and oversee the exams.
