Counter-terrorism forces in Hama have succeeded in arresting a number of individuals associated with the former regime's militias, responsible for committing acts of torture and firing at protesters during the years of conflict and the previous era. Among those detained is Kareem Shailli, who was a leader of armed groups and participated in operations targeting areas such as Al-Hama and nearby villages near Damascus. Other suspects have also been detained, including Murai Al-Khudoor, Ali Khair Bakk, and Dr. Asim Suleiman. Additionally, former security and military leaders have been arrested, among them Brigadier General Mohammed Mohsen Niyouf and some of the top former interior officials.
