Damascus Airport >148,000 travelers in month
Damascus International Airport experienced a significant increase in air traffic during May 2026, with the number of travelers exceeding 148,000 across more than 1,500 flights. The travelers were divided between 83,357 arrivals and 64,948 departures, with the number of arrivals surpassing departures by more than 18,000 travelers—a sign of the Syrian aviation sector's recovery and rising demand for travel, especially following the resumption of flights after a period of suspension due to regional tensions.
