Germany sets 46-year win record

The German national team defeated their American counterparts 2-1 in a friendly match as part of their preparations for the 2026 World Cup. Kai Havertz scored the opening goal right at the start of the match, followed by Antony Robinson equalizing for the USA. Leroy Sane then secured the victory with a winning goal in the 57th minute. This victory extended Germany’s winning streak to nine consecutive matches, the longest they have achieved since the period between May 1979 and June 1980, when they won 12 consecutive games and claimed the European Championship title in 1980.
