Sari Moayad Makhlouf has been arrested on charges of participating in the Beda massacre in Banias, as well as accusations of theft, armed robbery, kidnapping for ransom, and car theft and property crimes. Preliminary investigations revealed his involvement in running an international smuggling network in cooperation with Bashar Talal Assad and Hafez Munther Assad, using his security position during the previous Assad regime to cover up his criminal activities.
