Tourists Pay 44 Euros for Jobs in Rome
A American couple caused a wave of controversy after paying 44 euros for two ice cream sundaes with toppings at a shop near Piazza Navona in Rome, where it turned out that each ice cream cost 22 euros. Tourist Nicole Ann from Florida said she thought the total price wouldn't exceed about $14 and only realized the value of the toppings after receiving the bill, as the shop had implied that some toppings were free. The incident sparked widespread reaction on social media, with advice to avoid crowded tourist areas to steer clear of inflated prices.
