Damascus hosts workshop on inclusive education
A workshop was organized in Damascus to discuss the results of the assessment of inclusive and equitable quality education in Syria, with the aim of developing more just and inclusive educational policies. The findings showed that many schools lack facilities for students with disabilities and face challenges such as water shortages, inadequate transportation services, and a gap in awareness about the concept of inclusive education, especially among displaced populations and in rural areas. The government is working on renovating schools and reopening new schools to improve access to education, alongside efforts to support returning students and develop an educational environment that promotes social cohesion and national peace.
