Syrian doctors' death revives hospital ties
Two Syrian doctors lost their lives in Aden following a random shooting incident carried out by one of the security personnel assigned to protect the city's governor's residence while they were in the area. Dr. Samer Ahmed Hassan, a specialist in kidney diseases and transplantation, and his wife, Samaher Al-Mousa, an expert in rheumatology, previously worked at Tishreen Military Hospital in Damascus, a Syrian military institution with a history during the war that includes reports of torture cases and detainees. There are no publicly known connections between the incident and their professional backgrounds at the hospital, and the Yemeni authorities confirm that the deaths resulted from the random shooting.
