Syrian Civil Defense reports nearly 2,000 fires since June
Since the beginning of June, Syria has witnessed the Civil Defense teams responding to 1,981 fires, including 436 fires in agricultural crops, due to high temperatures and the dryness of the vegetation during the harvest season. The fires primarily affected crops such as wheat, lentils, and barley, posing a threat to agricultural production and food security. Firefighting teams continue to implement a national plan to reduce risks. The Civil Defense has called on farmers to refrain from lighting fires and to observe safety measures to protect lives and property.
