Serjila Revival Effort in Idlib
The Directorate of Antiquities in Idlib launched a campaign titled "Sergila Breathes" to revive the archaeological site in the village of Sergila in Idlib countryside. The goal is to clean the site of weeds and trash and to prepare it to welcome visitors, in cooperation with local and community organizations. The campaign aims to protect heritage and raise community awareness, involving activities such as removing weeds, transporting waste, and cleaning pathways. Each site is tackled over a one-day effort, with a different archaeological site selected weekly. The village of Sergila is one of the most prominent archaeological sites listed as a World Heritage Site since 2011.
