Sony ends sale of PS game discs
Sony has announced that it will cease production and sale of physical PlayStation game discs starting January 2028, as all new games will be distributed digitally only through the PlayStation Store or download codes. This decision aligns with the decline in traditional disc sales and the user preference for digital content. Games released before that date will still be available on disc. Additionally, Sony announced the gradual closure of the PlayStation Store for PlayStation 3 and Vita starting in 2026, due to their lack of support for modern payment methods.
