Android 17 system enhances lock screen security
Google announced a security upgrade in Android 17 to enhance the protection of the lock screen against guessing attempts. The changes impose stricter limits on the number of wrong attempts, reducing it from 1,800 attempts over five years in older versions to just 19 attempts in Android 17, with repeated tries of the same code not counted. The goal of the update is to reduce the exploitation of users' weak choice of simple PINs and to improve the security of personal data and accounts on smartphones.
