iPhone 18 Pro Max to receive major main camera upgrade
The article pertains to a leak bundle revealing that the iPhone 18 Pro Max will see significant improvements in its main camera, as it will use the new Sony IMX905 sensor, which for the first time supports variable aperture technology. This feature allows for actual adjustment of the aperture size based on shooting conditions, enhancing control over lighting and depth of field, and improving photo quality in various environments, especially in low light. However, Apple is not expected to make fundamental changes to the telephoto and ultra-wide cameras, which may remain equipped with the same sensors used in the previous generation. The phone is anticipated to be unveiled in September 2026, with this major imaging upgrade likely to be one of the standout features of the new generation.
