Reports have revealed a security vulnerability in Google's Gemini application on Android 16 devices, allowing anyone to access a locked phone and send messages or execute commands without knowing the lock code. This vulnerability can be exploited to gain unauthorized access to the application's permissions. Although it requires considerable time and physical access to activate, it increases the risk of phone theft, especially as theft cases are rising worldwide. Google has confirmed it will release an update to fix the vulnerability within the week, along with advice to disable Gemini from appearing on the lock screen to prevent exploitation.
