French company Tornado Systems has developed a small drone powered by artificial intelligence to combat mosquitoes. The drone measures the size of a hand, weighs 40 grams, and is equipped with 380 microphones to detect sounds. It can identify mosquitoes from a distance of 8 meters, covering an area of two hectares through repeated patrols. This technology operates without chemical pesticides; instead, it intercepts the insects and cuts their wings using rotors, making it environmentally friendly. It is regarded as an ideal solution for tropical areas suffering from mosquito-borne diseases, although it also sparks debate about its cost, as some fear it may be expensive and require licenses, while others prefer traditional pesticides for their ease of use and lower cost.
