AI companies seek Chinese teens at age 13

Chinese companies in the artificial intelligence sector are increasingly training teenagers from the age of 13, aiming to bridge the skills gap projected to reach five million jobs by 2030, amid rising demand for expertise and growing investments. The training programs include camps that teach advanced skills such as product management, robotics, and quantum computing, some of which involve full-time employment for talented students with attractive salaries. Similarly, global companies like Google and Microsoft are adopting comparable strategies, focusing on exceptional skills and curiosity rather than university degrees. This trend aims to discover talent early, reduce training costs, and stay ahead of the job market and its future needs.
