Realme has announced the discontinuation of its custom user interface, "Realme UI," replacing it with Oppo's ColorOS as part of its strategy to unify the software between the two brands. New Realme devices will come directly with ColorOS, and many existing models will be upgraded to version 17 of ColorOS, depending on each device's update policy. The "Realme UI" and "ColorOS" interfaces are similar in design and functionality, and users will benefit from new features that include AI-based tools, performance enhancements, increased energy efficiency, and improved privacy and security. The updates are expected to include flagship and mid-range Realme phones, as well as entry-level devices from the Narzo and Note series, and tablet devices are also anticipated. This change comes with software improvements but will not cause a radical shift in the user experience, as both interfaces share the same underlying codebase. However, unifying the naming and updates will enhance system stability and allow for faster development. The official release date of the update has not been announced yet, but it is expected to start first with Oppo phones and then gradually extend to Realme devices.
