Overall, the discussions between U.S. President Donald Trump and Lebanese President Joseph Aoun focused on strengthening security and military cooperation between the two countries. They agreed to initiate talks to establish a bilateral security agreement aimed at creating a sustainable framework for strategic collaboration, along with expanding military aid to support the Lebanese army. The arrangements for the post-UNAIFIL mission phase were also discussed, with an emphasis on the United States' lack of intention to extend the current mission and instead exploring new options to ensure security in southern Lebanon. Additionally, they agreed to explore new investment opportunities in the energy and communications sectors, support economic reconstruction, and establish direct flights between the two countries to enhance trade and tourism relations.
