Android backups expire in 45 days

Google has announced changes to its Android backup policy, where backups that include text messages and call logs will now consume shared storage space between Google Drive and other services for the first time in years. These changes, which will take effect within 40 days, will lead to an increase in stored data volume and have a direct impact on free storage capacity, as backups will stop if the storage becomes full, requiring users to purchase additional space. Users can now control the types of data they back up through new options in the phone settings, initially available to Pixel phone users. It is recommended to review and delete unnecessary content to prevent backup interruptions.
