Samsung's Galaxy S27 Ultra to feature new battery tech
Samsung is exploring the expansion of silicon and carbon battery use to include its flagship phones, following their initial adoption in foldable Galaxy Z devices. These batteries offer higher energy density, allowing battery capacity to be increased to around 5,500 mAh in phones like the Galaxy S27 Ultra, without significantly increasing size or weight. The final decision depends on how much the technology improves and the user experience, amid regulatory challenges and market regulations that may impose limits on battery capacity, especially in European and American markets. The adoption of this technology could mark a major shift in Samsung's battery strategy and reduce the gap with Chinese companies that offer higher capacities, with a possible move towards dual-cell batteries to overcome capacity restrictions.
