Qualcomm to increase processor prices from September

Qualcomm announced that it plans to raise the prices of its processors starting from September first, in response to rising production costs, including manufacturing, assembly, and testing materials. Reports indicate that this increase will gradually lead to higher prices for smartphones that rely on Qualcomm processors, especially as sales decline and consumers begin to opt for cheaper or previous-generation models. Additionally, the rise in processor costs will impact profit margins for manufacturers and put more pressure on the prices of flagship phones in the future. Qualcomm also intends to diversify its revenue streams away from the smartphone market by expanding into automotive, data centers, and smart glasses sectors, aiming to generate about 60% of its revenue from non-phone-related sectors by next year.
