Apple's App Store temporarily removed Telegram after allegations of distributing explicit images of children, but the app was reinstated after removing the offending content. According to its founder, Pavel Durov, this was a deliberate attack by blackmailers who used artificial intelligence to generate and spread fake images for extortion purposes, without Apple alerting the platform or explaining the blackmailers' demands. This incident serves as a cautionary warning that Apple's actions could jeopardize online platforms, as it can swiftly remove apps based on unverified claims without thorough investigations. The crisis has also drawn criticism of the company's role in protecting social media platforms and digital security.
