The city of Zawiya in Libya experienced drone attacks targeting oil facilities, including the Zawiya refinery and oil filling plants. These attacks resulted in widespread fires and thick black smoke billowing into the sky. Rescue teams continue their efforts to control and extinguish the fires, while nearby residents were evacuated due to cases of suffocation. The responsible parties for the attacks remain unknown, as no group has claimed responsibility so far. The National Oil Corporation plans to declare a "force majeure" and suspend all refinery operations if the attacks persist. These assaults have destroyed tanks holding millions of liters of gasoline, exacerbating the oil crisis and halting production at the country's largest refinery.
