Samsung May Remove Camera Feature on Galaxy S27 Ultra
Samsung has announced that it will not reintroduce the variable aperture technology into its flagship Galaxy S27 series, particularly the Galaxy S27 Ultra. This decision comes despite tests conducted in collaboration with component suppliers. The reason behind this is the increased manufacturing cost and the added thickness of the camera module, as the variable aperture mechanism requires additional mechanical components that complicate the design and add weight to the device. This conflicts with the company's goal of designing thinner and more streamlined phones. Currently, Samsung relies on computational photography and artificial intelligence to improve image quality rather than traditional mechanical solutions. It is expected that the company will continue to focus more on these technologies in its future phones, while Apple may surpass them by incorporating variable aperture technology into the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max.
