Quick Share Adds Major New Feature
Google has launched a new feature called "Tap to Share" on the Android system, allowing users to quickly share contacts, photos, videos, files, links, and locations by simply bringing two compatible phones close together. The feature relies on the physical proximity of the devices, enabling the sharing process to begin as soon as the top parts of the two phones are near each other, without the need for manual searching. The feature requires both phones to be running Android 17 or later and is enabled by default on new Pixel devices, with plans to expand support to foldable Samsung phones and other Android devices in the coming months. It also maintains privacy control by requesting user approval before transferring content, providing a faster and smoother sharing experience between nearby devices.
