The article quotes statements by Itamar Ben Gvir, the Israeli Minister of Internal Security, who publicly called for the killing of between 30 to 40 Palestinians every night in Gaza, considering that some Palestinians "do not deserve to live." He also demanded a mass expulsion of Palestinians and the reestablishment of Israeli settlements in the sector, emphasizing that Gaza "belongs to Israel" and expressing his desire to establish settlements there. These remarks come amid an escalation of Israeli hostility toward Palestinians, as Israel has killed tens of thousands of Palestinians in its war on Gaza and caused a major humanitarian crisis that includes famine, disease, and the destruction of buildings. Ben Gvir's calls for expulsion and killing are considered acts of ethnic cleansing, and they form part of a series of statements that confirm Israel’s intention to expand control over the sector through coercive measures and forced displacement of Palestinians.
