Reports indicate that China is planning to phase out an older version of the Windows 10 operating system designated for government agencies, as part of its efforts to enhance data security and reduce dependence on foreign technology. The government has issued urgent directives to remove it from official institutions' devices to accelerate the shift to domestic technologies instead of relying on Microsoft programs, ahead of the company's end of support for Windows 10 in late 2025. This move is part of a national policy to develop local operating systems and ensure information security in sensitive sectors.
