Cell Towers as Sensors in 6G
The article focuses on the "Sensor and Communications Integration" technology in sixth-generation networks, which combines sensing capabilities with radio communications to enable the network to monitor the environment and objects remotely by analyzing reflections of radio waves. This technology extends beyond simple data transmission to physical environment sensing, opening up prospects in fields such as intelligent navigation, healthcare, and smart cities. However, it also raises privacy and security concerns, most notably the potential for collecting information about individuals not connected to the network without their consent. It underscores the importance of enhancing safety and automation, while highlighting the need for strict data protection regulations to prevent profiling and information leaks.
