Why AI Uses Our Devices Memory
The artificial intelligence industry has turned to increasing its demand for memory, especially with the development of more complex models that require high capacities and ultra-fast speeds to process data and long contexts quickly. These models rely on technologies such as HBM (High Bandwidth Memory) and K-V cache memory, which necessitate significant investments in semiconductor manufacturing and balancing different types of memory (such as DRAM and NAND Flash). The rising demand exacerbates the challenges of ensuring sufficient supply, impacting the prices and availability of memory. This issue becomes even more critical as AI moves from data centers to personal devices and robots, which demand high-performance memory to process data in real time.
