Tesla Roadster accelerates instantly and soars
Tesla showcased a prototype of the new Roadster during a live event from a SpaceX facility in Texas, nearly a decade after customers placed $50,000 reservation deposits following its announcement in 2017. The vehicle, built on a lightweight platform, features electronic steering and advanced technologies from SpaceX. It achieved acceleration from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than one second and can lift off into the air, glide slowly, and then land. Production of the new generation is scheduled to begin in 2028, with full self-driving packages discontinued, as this will be the last model driven by a human driver. The company anticipates the car will be priced high, with pre-orders opening again.
