Ghofran Belkheir joins Germany team

Tunisian weightlifting champion, Ghofran Belkheir, sparked widespread controversy after announcing her official joining of the German national team. She did so by posting an official document showing her affiliation with a local club in Berlin. However, legal scrutiny reveals that this document only grants her the right to compete in local competitions within Germany and not at the international level. Additionally, nationality laws and international regulations generally do not allow a direct transfer to a national team of another country without obtaining citizenship and an official passport, which currently appears unfeasible due to time requirements and documentation issues. Therefore, her announcement of officially joining the German national team seems legally invalid and merely reflects her ongoing practice sessions with a local team.
