Kairouan confiscates 24.6 tons of subsidized flour
The regional trade administration in Kairouan, in coordination with the National Food Safety Authority and security units, successfully seized 24.6 tons of subsidized flour during a joint operation in the city center. It was found that the seized amount was divided between 11.1 tons of flour infested with insects, larvae, and powdery mites, and an additional 13.5 tons of the same product, equivalent to 271 bags each weighing 50 kg. Inspections revealed a breach of support regulations, as the flour intended for bread-making had not been diverted appropriately, which led to the seizure in accordance with legal procedures. Strict measures have been implemented to ensure the non-consumption of the unsound material.
