Oil drops as Europe endorses emergency diesel release
The price of crude oil declined after Europe approved the release of some diesel stockpiles to support the market and reduce reliance on American imports. Brent crude settled at $102.25 per barrel with a slight decrease, while West Texas Intermediate fell by 1.90% to $91.11. The week concluded with Brent remaining slightly higher and WTI experiencing a decline. Reports indicated that the European Union approved France's request to withdraw additional amounts from its diesel reserves in an effort to support fuel prices. Additionally, U.S. President Trump mentioned that Europe agreed to a significant release of diesel stocks, and he had previously considered a ban on U.S. exports of it.
