Professor Hiloum Al-Bobo and Dr Yasmine Khamis Al-Bobo promoted after Gaza attack
Dr. Yasmin Khamis Al-Bobo and her mother, Lady Hilum Al-Bobo, as well as a Christian woman and her daughter, were martyred in an Israeli airstrike on an apartment building west of Gaza City. Yasmin was a pioneering Palestinian academic who dedicated her life to education and scientific research. She died after being injured in the strike, which resulted in the deaths of five people, including her mother. Her passing came just days after she underwent surgery, and her last contact with her family was filled with laughter and jokes. Yasmin was a lecturer and academic advisor who devoted her life to supporting students and improving education despite the hardships of war. She left a profound human and academic legacy. Her loss is part of a larger toll on Gaza’s higher education sector, which has lost hundreds of academics and researchers since the beginning of the conflict.
