Enhanced safeguards for children's online safety
The Ministry of Communications Technologies announced new measures to enhance child protection on the internet, in response to the decision by the National Telecommunications Authority in June 2026. The measures include activating parental control mechanisms that allow parents to filter inappropriate websites through a blacklist, manage connected devices, and set usage times. Additionally, service providers are required to inform users about the available monitoring services and how to activate them, offering advanced tools such as applications and digital platforms with the option to subscribe or unsubscribe at any time, with these services included in the billing. The goal is to enable parents to better protect children from inappropriate content and to promote a safer online environment for children and families.
