ISIS strikes police patrol in Iraq
The Kirkuk province in Iraq witnessed an attack by armed militants believed to be affiliated with the Islamic State "ISIS" against Federal Police forces, resulting in the death of one officer and injuries to four others, according to security sources. The attack targeted a location near Hawijah using machine guns and snipers. This is the first such incident since the withdrawal of U.S. forces from Iraq on September 30. Despite their defeat, the organization continues to operate through dormant cells, raising fears of its resurgence following the departure of international forces.
