Fire on French aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle
A fire broke out on the French aircraft carrier "Charles de Gaulle" during maintenance at the Toulon base, with no injuries or impact on the nuclear facilities. The fire started in a small technical room near the hangar and was contained and extinguished within hours. An investigation is currently underway to determine the causes. The "Charles de Gaulle" aircraft carrier is one of the few nuclear-powered carriers in the world. It had been assigned to a mission in the Middle East before the maintenance began, which is scheduled to be completed in December 2023.
