Ronaldo Releases Retirement Clarification
Cristiano Ronaldo apologized to his teammates and the Portuguese people after leaving the national team’s camp before the match against Denmark in the European Nations League, in protest of coach Jorge Jesus's statements asserting his complete authority in selecting the lineup. This move comes after his absence from the matches against Denmark and Norway, amid reports of his desire to retire from international football. Ronaldo stated in a statement that he takes full responsibility for his actions and asked the Portuguese Football Federation to evaluate his conduct and impose the appropriate sanctions, emphasizing that he is the team captain and deserving of decisive action against him.
