Najeeb Al-Shabi Ends Hunger Strike
Loy Najeeb Al-Shabi, the son of politician Ahmed Najeeb Al-Shabi, announced that his father has temporarily suspended his hunger strike after a week of sit-in. This decision came following a meeting with prison management, who assured him of their interest in addressing his father's demands and working to guarantee the rights of the prisoners. During the strike, Al-Shabi experienced a severe drop in blood sugar and blood pressure and was hospitalized twice. The decision to suspend the strike was made as a gesture of good faith, while awaiting confirmation that the prison administration will fulfill his father's demands without renouncing them.
