NY Mayor urges ending US support for Israel on Gaza War anniversary
The Mayor of New York, Zahran Mamdani, issued a call to end U.S. support for Israel, criticizing Washington’s complicity in the Gaza war as the third anniversary approaches. He affirmed that the Israeli government has committed war crimes resulting in the deaths of over 74,000 Palestinians, including more than 21,000 children, and that suffering continues through genocidal operations that are expanding in the Gaza Strip. The statement highlighted that since October 2023, the United States has provided extensive military assistance to Israel worth no less than $25.5 billion, including weapons and air defense systems, which have been documented in attacks causing civilian casualties. The call to end U.S. support reflects an escalation against the ongoing American involvement in supporting Israel in the current conflict.
