UAE Prosecutor: Fly Dubai Co-pilot Planned Attack
Emirati investigations have revealed that a co-pilot from Fly Dubai, an Omani national, planned to carry out a suicide attack at Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv during flight number (FZ1073) on September 30, 2026. The attack was intended to cause significant casualties. His ideological radicalization began in 2017 while studying in Australia, where he was influenced by extremist ideas and content that incited violence, before deciding to execute an attack using the aircraft. During the flight, he assaulted the pilot in an attempt to take control of the plane and carry out the attack. However, the crew managed to regain control, redirect the aircraft to Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia, and successfully landed safely. The investigation is still ongoing to uncover any potential accomplices or further connections. It was also revealed that, despite his extremist tendencies, the suspect appeared to behave professionally and securely during his employment.
