Top oil officials skip Saudi energy event
Senior officials from major international oil companies have ceased attending the Energy Conference in Riyadh following the missile attack on Riyadh Airport by the Houthis, which resulted in 12 deaths and over 300 injuries. The attack, which has been repeatedly carried out over the past week, led to the airport's closure and warnings of ongoing threats by the Houthis to Saudi airports and airspace using ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. Despite this, officials confirmed that the Energy Conference and the Future Investment Initiative will proceed as scheduled. The recent escalation reflects the intensifying conflict in the region and its impact on global energy markets.
