Tunisie Telegraph: Rida Kirira Trial Delayed to November 5
The Tunisian Court of First Instance has decided to postpone the trial of former Minister of State Property and Land Affairs, Rida Kerira, until November 5, 2026, at the request of the defense team. Kerira was the last Minister of Defense under President Ben Ali, holding the position from January 2010 until the fall of the regime in January 2011. He previously served as Minister of State Property from 1999. The case involves allegations of financial and administrative misconduct during his tenure as Minister of Property, including the allocation of land parcels to Ben Ali's relatives under suspicious circumstances. Additionally, he faces other charges involving forgery and the use of forged documents. He was previously sentenced to 14 years in prison in a related case and is currently appealing the verdict.
