Al-Amira / Sfax hosts pest prevention awareness day
The article discusses the Awareness and Education Day organized by the Agricultural Guidance Cell in Al-Amara, focused on the prevention and control of Olive Sore Disease. This disease is a bacterial affliction that affects olive trees, causing swelling of branches and shoots, which leads to reduced growth and productivity. During the event, technical guidance was provided to farmers on prevention and control methods, as part of efforts to limit the spread of the disease, especially in the Maloush area, which has recently experienced an outbreak. It is expected that around 80,000 olive trees will be treated, and affected trees will be pruned to mitigate the impact. Emphasis was also placed on good agricultural practices to minimize damage to the sector and maintain production levels.
